Moldavie : le test européen n’est pas terminé

La République de Moldavie s’est réveillée ce matin avec un profond sentiment à la fois de soulagement et d’inquiétude. Les élections législatives du 28 septembre ont confirmé une fois de plus ce que les citoyens moldaves disent depuis des années : leur avenir est en Europe. Les urnes ont délivré un message clair : les citoyens veulent s’engager résolument sur la voie européenne, laissant derrière eux les ombres de l’emprise de Moscou.

Ce n’est pas la première fois que les Moldaves s’expriment. Les élections présidentielles de l’année dernière et le référendum sur l’adhésion à l’UE ont déjà montré une nation déterminée à assurer sa place dans la famille européenne. Le vote d’hier n’a fait que renforcer cette vision. C’était plus qu’une compétition politique, c’était un test de résilience, d’identité, pour savoir si la Moldavie pouvait résister à la pression de l’histoire et choisir sa propre voie pour aller de l’avant.

Une société sous pression

La campagne a été loin d’être pacifique. Les rues, les ondes et les espaces en ligne du pays étaient remplis de messages polarisants. Les partis politiques se sont attaqués sans relâche, les médias se sont souvent fait l’écho des lignes partisanes et les citoyens ont été pris dans une tempête de désinformation. L’ingérence de la Russie était visible à chaque étape : cyberattaques contre des institutions clés, tentatives d’achat de votes et propagande coordonnée visant à affaiblir la confiance des citoyens dans la démocratie elle-même.

Malgré cette pression sans précédent, les institutions de l’État moldave ont tenu bon. Les fonctionnaires électoraux ont travaillé sans relâche pour garantir un scrutin libre et équitable, tandis que les citoyens ordinaires, en Moldavie et à l’étranger, ont fait preuve d’un courage extraordinaire en se présentant simplement dans les bureaux de vote. Par cet acte collectif, la Moldavie a prouvé qu’elle était capable de s’opposer à la manipulation.

L’ombre de Moscou demeure

Mais l’histoire ne s’arrête pas aux résultats. Alors même que les bulletins de vote étaient dépouillés, les dirigeants de l’opposition soutenus par Moscou préparaient l’action suivante. Igor Dodon, chef du Bloc électoral patriotique, avait déjà appelé à des manifestations massives le 29 septembre, anticipant la défaite de son parti. D’autres forces d’opposition se sont rapidement déclarées prêtes à le rejoindre, révélant une fois de plus la profondeur de l’influence russe.

La stratégie de Moscou est ancienne : discréditer les processus démocratiques en remettant en cause leur légitimité, pousser les gens dans la rue et provoquer des affrontements qui érodent la confiance dans les institutions publiques. L’objectif n’est pas de gagner les élections, mais de paralyser la Moldavie, de la maintenir dans un état de faiblesse, de division et d’insécurité jusqu’à ce que les citoyens commencent à douter de la capacité de la démocratie à les protéger.

Une démocratie fragile mais déterminée

Pour l’instant, la Moldavie a réussi son test. Les élections ont été transparentes, démocratiques et constituent un signe fort de maturité dans un pays qui a trop souffert, qu’il s’agisse des difficultés économiques liées à la guerre en Ukraine, des cicatrices de la pandémie de COVID-19 ou de l’ingérence incessante de Moscou. Les citoyens ont prouvé qu’ils pouvaient résister à la pression et choisir un destin européen.

Mais le test n’est pas terminé. L’instabilité pourrait perdurer dans les semaines à venir, et les partis d’opposition ne renonceront pas facilement à leurs tentatives de renverser la volonté du peuple. Le véritable défi pour la Moldavie commence maintenant : transformer cette victoire démocratique en stabilité à long terme, construire des institutions suffisamment solides pour résister aux trahisons internes et au sabotage externe, et prouver que la Moldavie ne se contente pas de survivre à l’histoire, mais qu’elle la façonne.

Le peuple a parlé. La voie européenne n’est plus un rêve, c’est un engagement. Il reste à voir si les dirigeants, les institutions et la société moldaves peuvent poursuivre cet engagement malgré les pressions, les protestations et les provocations.
